Sarah Palin, McCain’s new VP pick, had some nice things to say about Ron Paul earlier this year:

He’s cool. He’s a good guy. He’s a good guy. He’s so independent. He’s independent of like the party machine, I’m like, right on, so am I. The party machinery, on both sides of the party, ya know, Americans are tiring of the incessant partisanship that gets in the way of just doing the right thing for this country.

Of course now the McCain campaign is trying to block Ron Paul from the convention floor. Watch what Ron says when CNN’s John King interviews him Tuesday morning:

Ron Paul talks sense on Iran. As Juan Cole points out, Paul argues that speculation about a US or Israeli strike on Iran is driving some of the increase in oil prices. Also, it appears that the OPEC president agrees.

Not only is such speculation causing a rise in oil prices, but as he further rightly points out, the need for a US or Israeli strike on Iran does not exist! Iran is not at all on the verge of making nuclear weapons. Listen to what he says. The truth of it has been well established for some time. We are being led over a cliff by raving neocon lunatics in the both US and Israel! And if not lunatics, brain washed timid people. I is pissed!

Here’s Ron Paul on Meet The Press yesterday, December 23, 2007. If only he weren’t for elimination of the income tax! His foreign policy, which he gets into in the later part of this interview is right on! Listen to Tim Russert try to trick him into saying he supports Al Qaeda. It doesn’t work!
