After Snow

Looking out toward the road. See sand barrel covered with snow.

From our driveway looking west. See top of water well.

Looking northeast. See mountains. Deer camera was on edge of garage.

Hi Mardé,

Wow ! I haven’t seen that in years ! And what I remeber of old snowfalls around here was not as heavy. Just a few measly inches on the ground.
I can enjoy the beauty of your photos, with the mountains in the background.
I hope that you are all doing fine. You probably are very much used to this type of conditions and always stock up.

Stay safe , and see you soon.

Wow you guys got a lot of snow..that view is beautiful btw…NJ didn’t really get hit hard but it was mostly cold for the past 2 weeks.

Would you believe we had another snowstorm today? Yes, we did. About eight more inches! Only this time the snow is wet and heavy. Makes it difficult for our snow-blower to throw the snow. But I cut a narrow path and turn-around for the car, so at least we can get out of here.

Actually, last year we had one small storm in early December and then nothing until mid-February or even later. I can’t remember exactly now. So, this year Mother Nature is making up for short-changing us last year.

How I wish snow will fall in my country…

Well, you might have to wait for the next ice age? Hey, I just checked your blog. It’s very clever and entertaining. Too bad about Miss France 2007, huh? Nice photo though. Take care and thanks for your comment, Edward.

Stay warm for the holiday - looks like you need to. I went off snow like that in 1947 when I found short trousers not a good idea.
All the best for the New Year from us all.
Aileni.

Thanks, Aileni. All the best to you too, and to your nice family over there in merry old Eiré. Today we’re supposed to get rain, would you believe! But there’s too much snow for it all to get washed away, although one never knows about the weather. No, short trousers would not be a good idea here!

That same winter, ‘46/’47, I was just over 2 years old (that’s right, I married an older man!) My Dad carved me a battleship out of the pile of snow beside the path. I loved it - until the warmth of my behind melted my seat and sent me inside the heap!
I still like looking at snow, though.

Kinda tough to be swallowed by a battleship at the age of two. No wonder you remembered it! Must have been traumatic, but fun (infantile omnipotence?). Well, we got yet more snow last night, about 3 to 4 inches of wet heavy stuff. We’re getting sick of moving it around. But good exercise, we say.
