Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend?

How does that song go? I ask because in looking at the Recent Visitors list on this here blog I see a pretty lady with the moniker, Diamond. But I can’t think of the words. Age, you know, like John McCain.

Frank Sinatra.

1st verse
“The French are glad to die for love
they delight in fighting duels
But I prefer a man who lives and gives expensive jewels”

Hey thanks for helping the old guy out, Joe.

And the next lines?? Ahhhhhhhh I remembered!

“A kiss on the hand may be quite continental
But diamonds are a girls best friend”

 but I confess… I cheated and used Google.

John McCain and I would cry:

“Time rolls on and youth is gone and you cant straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees you stand straight at Tiffanys
Diamonds…diamonds… I dont need rhinestones
But diamonds are a girls best…best friend”

Actually, I doubt I could stand straight at Tiffanys.

Dad I haven’t seen you stand straight since 1975 when you dragged me to the Concord Monument amongst all those drunken antiwar activists to see President Ford speak!
(kidding.. you stand pretty straight and tall when you are singing!)

“Square cut or pear shaped,
those rocks don’t lose their shape,
Diamonds are a girls best friend.”

“Those pretty rocks will never bend
So, remember guy, you gotta spend
Diamonds are a girls best friend.”

— author unknown

Well, Kate, when I dragged you there you got to see more freedom activists than since the revolutionary war, and I like to stand straight when I sing.

Thanks for the additional lines, Missy. Great Frank Sinatra revival going on here? But I don’t see Diamond on my Recent Visitors list any more.
