Thanks very much for your very thoughtful and honest comment, Michael. I agree with a good part of it.

On another note, I hope at least part of your Ron Paul sign at the bottom of the hill is still visible through the endless pilings of snow we seem to get. But how would I know? It'll be 80 today in sunny Florida, at least around Fort Lauderdale.

It is clear that Ron Paul will not be the next president of the United States. I will still support him as a Delegate at the Maine GOP convention in May because I think that his (mostly) libertarian viewpoints are the direction that the Republicans need to move (back) to if they are going to continue to make any claim at being conservatives who favour a limited role for Government at all.

That being said, I cannot support John McCain (another Bush) for President and the thought of our nation (possibly) being in the hands of Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton for 28 years makes me very ill.

I have never yet voted against any candidate for the Presidency of these United States, but should McCain and Obama win the nominations of their respective wings of the Corporate Incumbent Party, I will cast my vote for Obama.

I believe that Obama passionately believes in what he says he believes in even though I just as passionately don't believe in what he believes in. An honest man I disagree with is far better than a lying politician who claims to be libertarian but too often votes as an authoritarian.

That will have to be good enough. If Obama can get us disentangled from the wars in the middle east, even the $281 BILLION that he wants to add to the cost of the Federal Government Entitlements will seem a drop in the bucket compared to the TRILLIONS of dollars and thousands of lives that we are wasting fighting an undeclared Extra-Constitutional war for record profits on oil.

I watched the U. of Texas debate from beginning to end. I tend to agree with many pundits that it was a draw. But I think Hillary's final moment was magnificent.
