A Man Not A God!

Believe it or not, Bush will be gone now in a matter of days. Well, we elected him! Here’s Willie Shakespeare:

“Ye gods, it doth amaze me,
A man of such a feeble temper should
So get the start of the majestic world,
And bear the palm alone. (1.2.129)

Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus; and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs, and peep about
To find ourselves dishonourable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings. (1.2.135)”

Thanks, Juan Cole, for “W.’s Twilight: A Man of Feeble Temper”. Great reading!

I gotta tell you, Marde. I am no fan of Shakespeare. Too flowery. Just get to the damned point already!

Well, all Willie’s saying is “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves that we elected George W Bush.”, and Juan Cole takes it from there!

    Yes, he was elected… twice…

But barely. And most Americans are glad he is almost gone 😎

    We did not!

Oh Debi! I wasn’t saying you voted for him. I didn’t vote for him either. But it’s still true the American people elected him twice.

That’s true, Zhu, the vast majority of Americans are now glad he’s gone. But we did elect him — I mean the American people did. Of course, the first time it was the Supreme Court that did it! Still, there were way too many Americans that got sucked in by him. Now they regret it. Perhaps it was the fault of the media?

Anyway, if you want to read a really great take-down of the W. presidency, read that Juan Cole article!
