Only this time it’s not a metaphysical mind-body, like I have been wont to talk about in the past, it’s a physical mind-body. The Benson-Henry Institute (BHI) for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital offers their relaxation response for quieting our mind and reducing our stress. Tangible benefits such as reduced blood pressure result. Well, this is all well known. There’s also NCCAM, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. But getting back to BHI why don’t I try that relaxation response? Yeah, why don’t I?

Hi Marde,
(I can’t remember the moves I need to make to make an accent over your e…)
Have you heard of Heart Math? It’s been around since the early 90′s, I have 2 of their books actually (Doc Lew Childre) but they are collecting dust presently; recently there was an article on “it” in Utne – Mar/April ’06 (ok, not recent, recent, but I just read it from the library), anyway, another easy way for us to cool our jets and get our hearts beating in a way that won’t kill us…AND another thing, perhaps we could collectively do “something” about the constant calls that come each early evening from No One, selling Something…I guess they are a good place to practice the relaxation response or HeartMath…Yes, that’s what I’ll call them, practice prompts.
Take care -
