Werewolves of London

I just discovered a phenom called Warren Zevon. Where have you been old guy? Hey, I was born before the Great Depression, what do ya expect? But I digress. Watch the video!

Here’s what got me started on Warren Zevon: “You can dream the American Dream, but you sleep with the lights on and wake up with a scream.”
Way to go, Warren!

aaHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
screamed the Werewolf.

How wonderful to hear this song. I remember him on the David Letterman Show and perhaps saw his last performance there as I think he died shortly after. He sang a song about not being there, Keep Me in Your Heart for Awhile, voice showed his illness but brought tears to ALL. Gram

Thanks, Gram, for cluing me in. I had no idea. Your comment made me look him up and Wikipedia has a great bio of him I think. Yes, I can imagine how sad it must have been to hear him do that song on the Dave Letterman Show. Thanks very much for your comment, Gram.

    Hey there Mard,
I was born quite awhile after the Great Depression, but I don’t know Zevon ! Although while reading his bio, I probably listened to some of his compositions for other artists.
That is sad about his cancer  Those cancers due to exposure to asbestos can be really mean. We had a neighbor who died of this.

Thanks for sharing this; it was some great music for a Sunday morning !
    Take care.

Well, thanks, Barb, I guess I’m not the only one that didn’t know Warren Zevon. Actually, having been born just before the Great Depression, I should have at least heard of him. I’ve had plenty of time! 😉

Yes, it is sad about his cancer. He was much too young to have expired. But many people are no doubt keeping him in their hearts for awhile, a long while.

Yes, it’s great wake up music for a Sunday morning! 😀

Hey Dad you’ll have to come over and listen to my Warren Zevon record “Excitable Boy.” I’ve listened to it two times in a row. It’s that good. 😉

OK, thanks Kate. I’ll have to do that. Sounds great! My education is expanding.

Without doubt this one of the best songs ever. I love that bit about the perfect hair. I loved this song so much that when I was in London I made a pilgrimage to Lee Ho Fook’s-though I did not find Chow Mein on the menu.
