I’m beginning to wonder. Number one: it takes an enormous amount of time. Number two: there are countless blogs out there that vey few people read. Number three: It can become an obsession.
Why does it take time? Well, with WordPress there are a growing number of neat features that can be implemented. The implementation is not always straightforward and often depends on the theme. It’s fun to get something added and implemented correctly. All this takes time.
Why are many blogs hardly read? Because there are too many of them and there’s only a limited amount of time. We’re all interested in our own blog, want other people to read ours whereas we could in fact spend all our time reading other people’s blogs. We want interaction, appreciation, love. There’s only so much of it to go around because of the time limitations, and I might add, ego limitations, my own included.
Yes, it’s an obsession, in fact it can be magnificant one…. I’ve left out the universal urge to make money. There’s this whole field of linking and connecting and motivating and growing for the sake of growing, getting the blog recognized by the larger world. This can become obsessive, and how often does it work? Probably often. But I’ll confess I’m still trying to understand all this social networking stuff, the subscribing, the listing, tags, Google, Technorati, Digging on and on. Good Heavens! I could spend all my time doing that.
I would just like to make a few friends and try to write a few things of interest. This alone could consume a large portion of my time. Well, I’ll keep at it. 😉

Hi Mardé ,
It’s good to ask yourself questions now & then.
I have only been in blogging since last November, but, it has been like an apprenticeship.
I’am still learning…I look at the social part of blogging like, ” too little time, so many great people to meet”.Time is always the enemy.
I think that you are going to get me going on a post on
my blog philosophy too… See what you started ?! Nah, it’s good to think. 😉See you soon,
