Old Gals

According to what I read in the on-line papers, the oldest person in the world just died. She was 116 and getting ready for her 117th birthday. The Guinness Book of Records has confirmed this with birth documents, etc. The next oldest is now the oldest at 116, just a few months short of the previous oldest person. The oldest person who ever lived, according the the Guinness Book of Records, reached 122 years; she was born in 1875 and she died in 1997.

Notice I keep saying she, not he. What about the old guys, like me? Well, they say there’s one old guy who is now 115. Not bad, eh?

Read all about it here

I gotta go, but not quite yet! :-)

Jah, the other 50% seems to be busy or something. I expect she’ll appear soon I hope.

Jah, 115, not too probable I guess. I can imagine what a basket case I would be if I ever reached that age! Why bother, huh?

I was really beginning to like my new nickname.. “the other 50%”.. but now with Nash and the growing readership.. well, I’m not sure if it’s appropriate anymore.

Hey, zgirl, you can still be the other 50%. In fact, I bet if we counted up the number of your comments here, you’d take top honors and be more than 50%!
